Information for absentee bidders

Arrangements for bidding should be made as early as possible. Absentee and phone bids must be received by Showplace's Online Auctions Department no later than 5:00pm the day before the specified auction. We may not be able to properly execute bids received after that time.

During a Showplace auction, bids are handled in a competitive manner. Our auctions are well attended, and you will be competing against both phone and Internet bidders. If two absentee bids are received with identical bid amounts, the first bid received will take precedence. Absentee, phone, and Internet bids all have equal chances of being successful, with no single method taking precedence over another.

Successful bidders will receive an invoice within a few days of the sale, which will include a 20% buyer's premium added to the hammer price of each lot won. Payment guidelines for absentee, phone, and Internet bidders are the same.

              

Instructions for completing this form

Before submitting your absentee bid(s) using this online form, please be sure that you have read and agree with the buyer's terms. Then follow these instructions:

  1. As you complete this form, be sure to include all relevant information, including the lot number, a brief description, and your bid amount for each item using the proper bid increment. Bid increments are listed here. Please make sure that each of your bids falls within the appropriate increment; this is crucial to ensure that your bids will be handled accurately.
  2. All information boxes preceded with * on this form must be completed by the bidder, including creditcard information. If you have any questions regarding this process or preferred method of payment, please call the Online Auctions Department at 212-633-6063 x804.
