Paul Suttman (American, 1933-1993) was widely known as a representational artist, working within a variety of mediums and styles, eventually travelling to Italy and France to pursue studies in bronze-casting. During the 1970s he had begun creating sculptural still life works, experimenting with space and dimensionality. This small scale sculpture, created for J. Walter Thompson Co., comes in polished bronze, depicting a still life of fruit, including an apple and pear, arranged with a mug and bottle form vessel, on a circular base. Markings include the artist signature [Suttman] to the base; to the bottom [24/300/ J. Walter Thompson Co. Commission/ Buon Natale 1973]. The sculpture remains in very good vintage condition, minor wear to finish consistent with age and use.

A vintage bronze sculpture by noted artist Lawrence Fane (1933-2008) and signed "Fane"in bronze. Lawrence Fane was born in Kansas City, Mo. in 1933 and apprenticed under the sculptor George Demetrios. He lived in Rome for a period and traveled Europe before returning to the United States and eventually settling in New York where he exhibited extensively throughout his lifetime and was reviewed by such notable publications as The New York Times, the Wall Street Journal and Art in America, among others. He taught for a time at the Rhode Island School of Design but joined Queens college upon moving to New York and remained part of their faculty from 1966 to 1996 while guest lecturing at Yale, Duke and Boston College, among others. His work tends toward abstraction and many of his pieces are large scale public works. His smaller pieces can be found in galleries and museums throughout the United States. At The Whitney Biennial Exhibition in 2006 he contributed to the Mark di Suvero Peace Tower. He passed away in 2008.

A Brutalist copper-toned iron sculpture by Mathias Goeritz. Mathias was born in Germany in 1915. He studied Art History and Philosophy in Berlin and from 1940-45 taught in Morocco. After WW2 he returned to Europe, living in spain until he and his wife emigrated to Mexico in 1949, where they would live for the remainder of their lives. In Mexico he continued his sculpting, painting and teaching and also collaborated with architects. He died in Mexico City in 1990.
