Christian Liaigre (French, 1943-2020) Mercer Kitchen (designed 1997) dining chairs, a pair, each chair with curved back with "M" engraved into surface of backrest and back, the stained plywood frame with taupe-covered seat above tapering square legs.

Provenance: The Mercer Kitchen, Mercer Hotel, New York Note: The Mercer Kitchen at the Mercer Hotel was designed by Christian Liaigre in 1997, with an industrial aesthetic softened by luxurious comfort. These chairs are from the original Liaigre 1997 design and predate the 2023 renovation. Jean-Georges Vongerichten's Mercer Kitchen was a landmark restaurant for celebrities, food lovers, and New Yorkers.
