A pair of laminate and wood nightstands from American of Martinsville’s ‘Dania’ collection, produced during the 1950’s-1960’s, and designed by Merton Gershun.
These are original French or French American carved nightstands. They are done in the style of Louis XIII. Rudimentary tool marks on the interior and dovetailed drawers exemplify the cabinetmaker's skill. These nightstands have recently been restored to a beutiful french polish.

Barbara Quackenbush split time between Harrisonburg, Virginia and Fort Lauderdale, Florida. She graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University and continued her artistic training at George Washington University and the Corcoran School of Art in Washington, D.C. and exhibited locally an nationally throughout her career. She passed away in 2012.
