A pair of vintage Italian table lamps, produced circa 1950s, each with gilded sheaf of wheat tole tops, above ribbed alabaster globe bodies, on wood bases in brilliant gold leaf. Wiring and sockets to US standard, each requires a single Edison base bulb; newly rewired. These lamps are in very good vintage condition, consistent with age and use; dimensions reflect height to the top of the socket.

Donn Russell was born in Boston in 1929 and would go on to attend the Boston Museum School, the Pratt Institute, the School of visual Design and the Art Students League in New York. His first public acclaim was winning the top award at a National Academy of Design Annual and would be followed by numerous other awards and recognitions. His work has been exhibited throughout the world and has been featured in many art and architecture publications, as well as appearing as illustrations in various periodicals like Life, The New Yorker and Fortune.
