An Art Deco female bust with stylized features and great aged patina attributed to Walter Kantack. Her hair is a swirl of curving forms while her eyelashes are made up of thin strips of metal.

A gilded bronze modernist sculpture by Irving Marantz (1912-1972) titled 'Obelisk to Peace'. Made in 1972, this sculpture has a larger size version erected in 1972 on Park Avenue and 34th Street in New York City. This sculpture was Marantz's last outdoor work before his death the same year.

After WW2 he returned to Europe, living in Spain until he and his wife immigrated to Mexico in 1949, where they would live for the remainder of their lives. In Mexico he continued his sculpting, painting and teaching and also collaborated with architects. He died in Mexico City in 1990

Barbara Quackenbush split time between Harrisonburg, Virginia and Fort Lauderdale, Florida. She graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University and continued her artistic training at George Washington University and the Corcoran School of Art in Washington, D.C. and exhibited locally an nationally throughout her career. She passed away in 2012.
