A beautiful example of Russian decorative lacquer boxes from the village of Fedoskino, depicting a scene from the fairy tale entitled ‘The Little Humpbacked Horse’. Signed and dated at lower left, 1989.
This portable strong box, produced within the 19th Century period, comes in artfully incised bronze, raised on small square feet, with hinged dome top and locking mechanism, flanked by two round twist handles; wood interior. The box comes in very good antique condition, with age appropriate wear to bronze.
A round lidded box from the Art Deco era, produced in France circa 1920s, crafted of wood, the lid decorated with painted marquetry, depicting penguins congregating. Markings include [AP 19/25] signed to the lid. This piece remains in very good vintage condition, with age appropriate wear to finish and minuscule cracking to box rim.
A luxurious men’s jewelry box from the 1980’s produced by Mark Cross, in tones of dark and warm brown leather set on a wood frame and accented with beautiful polished brass hardware and handles.
An oakwood toolbox, produced circa 1920s-1930s, with leather handle on hinged lid, interior lined with green felt and the original mirror. Below, a locking panel, which may slide in and out from the base, reveals seven drawers of varying sizes. This box remains in good vintage condition, with some wear and cracking to original leather handle, consistent with age and use. Comes with usable and collectible tools, including a box of NJV numbered steel bits with official stamp. This box may be sold separately for $950.
A copper box from the turn of the 20th century and produced within the Arts and Crafts movement. All sides feature details executed in the repousse technique of leafy vines and fruit set against a hammered ground.
A vintage decorative box with hinged dome top, produced circa 1970s, entirely veneered in patchwork of multi-toned Horn. Overall good condition, consistent with age and use, including some wear to the interior.
A vintage dresser-top box, manufactured circa 1970s by Gene Jonson and Robert Marcius, with an elaborate lid, veneered in exotic woods and inlaid bone, over an octagonal shaped chrome body; interior lined with black suede. Markings include maker's label [Jonson & Marcius], to the bottom. This box is in overall very good condition, consistent with age and use.
