Circa 1920s Bronze Sculpture on stepped marble base by French sculptor Marcel Bouraine. Signed [Matto], pseudonym for Marcel Bouraine. Depicting a figure of a lady in silver-gilt bronze, dancing deftly on tiptoes, her loosened dress and hair emphasizing her energetic movement. Holding masks of comedy and tragedy in either hand, she lifts comedy up for her audience to see. This sculpture remains in very good condition, with some presence of natural wear and patina to the silver finish, as well as minor chips to marble.
