Born in Wisconsin in 1935, Weege studied printmaking and sculpture at the University of Wisconsin at Madison during the Vietnam War era, and became one of the sixties most politically active artists. A pair of vintage, cast iron urns, produced within the early 20th century period, circa 1900-1910, each painted in white, with classical patterned detail to the rim, over a gadrooned body, flanked with scrolling acanthus handles. Barbara Quackenbush split time between Harrisonburg, Virginia and Fort Lauderdale, Florida. She graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University and continued her artistic training at George Washington University and the Corcoran School of Art in Washington, D.C. and exhibited locally an nationally throughout her career. She passed away in 2012.
