Style: Lina Bo Bardi was primarily concerned with the social and cultural impact of architecture for the majority of her career. Her style was heavily influenced by Rio de Janeiro's characteristic modernist constructions, offset by lush surroundings. She viewed interiors as habitats for humans and strove to develop a style ideal for hosting a high quality of life.

History of designer: Born in Italy, Lina Bo Bardi was one of the most expressive and important architects of 20th century Brazilian architecture. She pursued her education at the University of Rome and majored in architecture. After graduation, she moved to Milan and collaborated with other artists.
During World War II, she moved permanently to Brazil and went on to design leisure centers, churches, theaters, and office buildings as well as other projects. One of her most successful works was the Pompéia Factory in Sao Paulo. Bardi also is known for creating set designs, costumes and jewelry for experimental film and theater productions.
