History: Hans Knoll is a world-renowned furniture manufacturer and Peter Knoll was his son. The Hans Knoll Furniture Company was founded in 1941. Peter Knoll was one of two children from Hans Knoll’s first marriage to Barbara Southwick. As a youth, he was educated at the National Academy of Design. After Hans Knoll divorced Southwick, he married Florence Schust, who was a designer and architect. They both created the design empire that's known as Knoll Associates.
