A vintage pair of French Art Deco sculptured Siamese cats, one seated in an upright position, the other lying prone, in white ceramic with 'craquelure' glaze.
A very rare desk and chair, designed by K.E.M. Weber circa 1930s. The chair features a continuous tubular chrome base, with leather upholstered seat and back. The desk also features a base made of one continuous chrome tube, with forest green lacquered metal side drawers and a forest green lacquered plywood top. The chair still maintains its original paper label. This is a rare example of American Machine age design, which was influenced by both the Art Deco and the Bauhaus movements. Overall fair vintage condition, with age appropriate wear to the desk and chair, as well as significant cracking and tears to the original leather seat and back on the seat. She graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University and continued her artistic training at George Washington University and the Corcoran School of Art in Washington, D.C. and exhibited locally an nationally throughout her career. She passed away in 2012.
