Mid-century Danish 'Telescope' Table Lamp by Aage Petersen

Description:

A circa 1960s Danish Modern counter balance or 'telescope' table lamp, created by designer Aage Petersen, features the original pleated white acrylic lamp shade, over a white enamel socket cover, attached to an adjustable brass stem, on a circular black lacquer base. Aage Petersen (1902-1982), a sculptor who studied at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen, originally designed this light fixture in the mid-1940s. Newly rewired to US standard and takes one Edison base bulb. In overall good vintage condition, wear consistent with age and includes slight pitting to brass stem and minor scratches to black lacquer base.
