A 1945 limited edition sculptural table lamp, created by American artist Hugo Robus (1885-1964) for Silas Snider & Co. The lamp features double cluster sockets and pull chains above a rectangular form bronze body, decorated with reliefs of a seated stylized figure with abstracted features, on a square wooden base. Vintage, faux mica lampshade with whip stitching to the border included. Robus' interest in Futurism and Cubism is evident in the design of the lamp. Each side of the lamp depicting a slight variance in posture, arms raised and contorted dramatically, head either reared upwards or twisted down. Wired to US standard, takes two Edison base bulbs. Markings include artist's signature on the side. In overall good vintage condition, wear and patina consistent with age, slight damage to one corner of the shade and stitching, as well as minor scratches to the wood base.
