Two Italian modern watercolors by Giandante X, depicting colorful abstracted forms
Referring to himself as a "abstract phenomenist", the titles of Jenkins' paintings began with the term ‘Phenomena’, 1960s onward. This particular ‘Phenomena’ watercolor is highly unique in presence, the applied paint seemingly cropped, forming a neat ‘v’ shape, which stretches across the paper.
This fashion illustration in watercolor and graphite on paper by Sir Cecil Beaton (1904-1980), depicts a costume design for a ballerina dancer of 'The Lady of the Camellias'. Markings include the artist's signature [Beaton] to the lower right corner, [Design for Dancer "La Dame aux Camelias"- New York City Ballet - 1949] to the bottom. Very good condition, any presence of wear consistent with age. Includes original mat; frame new addition.
Likely produced, circa 1950s, this expressionist, mixed-media piece by Italian artist Remo Farruggio, is a bold and beautiful depiction of a nude woman in a hat, highlighted by multi-toned flashes of red, green, blue and brown.
