Amos Balaish

President and Owner

Amos Balaish is the President and Owner of Auctions at Showplace, bringing more than thirty years of experience in fine and decorative arts to the business.


Long active in New York’s antiques market, he is particularly recognized for his expertise in Art Nouveau and Mid-Century Modern design. Known for his instinctive understanding of collector preferences and evolving design trends, Amos has built a reputation not only for identifying exceptional property, but also for recognizing emerging collecting trends within the industry. His ability to anticipate shifts in design, collecting, and luxury buying has positioned him as a respected leader in the auction and antiques world.


Under Amos’s leadership, Auctions at Showplace has cultivated a loyal international client base and established a strong presence in the auction market through thoughtful curation, innovation, and a deep appreciation for art and design.

Andrea Baker

Vice President

Andrea Baker is Vice President of Auctions at Showplace, where she oversees cataloging, operations, and client strategy.


With more than three decades of experience in the art and antiques market, postgraduate study in Appraisal Studies at New York University, and a strong grounding in art history, she brings deep expertise to the evaluation and presentation of property across categories. Her work focuses on fine art, design, and select objects, with particular strength in managing high-value works within major estate collections.


A member of the Appraisers Association of America, Andrea is known for her thoughtful approach, disciplined eye, and ability to guide property to market with discretion, clarity, and care. She has been part of the Showplace team since 2015.

Albert Sionov

Head of Finance and General Manager

Albert Sionov is Head of Finance and General Manager of Auctions at Showplace and brings more than thirty years of experience with the business. He leads the company’s financial strategy and oversees accounting, human resources, IT infrastructure, and the company’s broader business functions.


Over the course of his career at Showplace, Albert has played an integral role in the company’s development and sustained growth.


Known for his financial expertise, steady leadership, and long-standing commitment to the organization, Albert continues to support the company’s long-term stability and success. He has been part of the Showplace team since 1993.

Claire Brooks

Managing Director

Claire Brooks is Managing Director of Auctions at Showplace and a key member of the leadership team. With a longstanding passion for fine and decorative arts, as well as study in Decorative Arts and Connoisseurship at Parsons School of Design, she brings a thoughtful, client-focused approach to the business.


Claire plays an active role in the estate buying division, evaluating and acquiring property across categories. Her knowledge of objects, collaborative approach, and ability to navigate the auction process with professionalism and ease have made her a trusted resource to clients and colleagues. She has been part of the Showplace team since 2018.

Shawn Leventhal

Director of Business Development

Shawn Leventhal is Director of Business Development at Auctions at Showplace. With an entrepreneurial background shaped in the entertainment industry, he brings a relationship-driven approach and strong network of client connections to the business. He is a member of the estate buying team, where he is involved in evaluating and buying property across categories.


He is active in nonprofit leadership and mentorship, roles that reflect his longstanding commitment to community engagement and building strong relationships. Shawn serves on the Board of Directors for the National Association of Professional Organizers New York Chapter (NAPO-NY). He has been part of the Showplace team since 2017.

Andrew McVinish

Senior Advisor, Trusts and Estates & Principal Auctioneer

Andrew has built a distinguished career in the decorative arts and auction industry spanning almost four decades and multiple continents. A former Senior Vice President and Head of Decorative Arts at Christie’s, New York, Andrew’s extensive experience and strategic mindset position him as a trusted advisor at Auctions at Showplace. Known as a persuasive negotiator with an in-depth knowledge of both the traditional and digital auction marketplaces, Andrew advocates for exceptional client service coupled with finding value in all aspects of the auction process.


As an Auctioneer, Andrew has sold many of the great collections that have come to market in the past 30 years and continues to be a major personality in the rostrum. A USPAP compliant appraiser, Andrew has an extensive appraisal practice and advises clients on matters of estate planning, insurance, and auction sales. He has been part of the Showplace team since 2022.
